A to Z of Being Me: D is for Dougie

This one’s going to be a little embarrassing folks, but I didn’t start this blog to lie to you.

So you may be wondering who Dougie is, especially those who know me. Well he’s not a friend, or a family member, or pet. Truth is Dougie isn’t really alive. Dougie, my friends, is my stuffed animal. Laugh away folks, because yes as a woman in my twenties I still sleep with a stuffed animal. Well guess what? I don’t care if that makes me weird. It ain’t gonna change anytime soon.

In my defense, as per a trusty source, it turns out that 35% of adults admit to the same guilty pleasure as I do. Better yet one in four men admit to taking a stuffed animal with them on their business trips. I’m not alone! So let me introduce you to Dougie:

20130223_235110

I was kindly given Dougie by my boyfriend as a random present. Since he was at school hours away it was his way of being there with me when he couldn’t be in real life. Cheesy I know, but I loved it and Dougie became part of my world. I still sleep with Dougie even though me and my boyfriend live together now. It’s not a security thing but sleeping without him just feels uncomfortable. I need something to hug and as much as I love my boyfriend he moves and makes a little more noise (big time snorer!) than this little guy.

As long as I can remember I’ve always slept with a stuffed animal. When I was younger it was Flopsy, a bunny my aunt gave me as a kid. Until I was given Dougie, Flopsy was my go-to at night. Flopsy was wearing down like any stuffed animal eventually would. It was really important for me to make sure it didn’t fall apart as that bunny has a whole lot of meaning behind it. Cue Dougie.

I’m sure one day I might grow out of this, but until then I will sleep well with my dog by my side.

Anyone else want to confess? I’m sure there’s some teddy huggers out there.

The Cookie Monster likes… Cake Mix Sugar Cookies

As the Cookie Monster says, Nom Nom Nom… yeah this kind of sounds like me too. In our household we love sweets. Cakes, cookies, brownies, chocolate, you name it and we love it. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, dessert is without a doubt the best meal of the day.

We’ve tried a few different cookie recipes and most have been an absolute success. Soon enough our recipe book will be overflowing with great sweets for any occasion but from now on I plan on sharing these with you as much as possible. This week our recipe of choice was Cake Mix Sugar Cookies, featured on one of my favourite blogs, Six Sisters’ Stuff.

20130223_163344

Ingredients

  • 1 box of cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup of oil

Directions

1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees

2. Mix all ingredients until the mixture is somewhat smooth **

3. Roll into balls and place on a cookie sheet (covered in parchment paper)

4. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned

** This is where I think I made my mistake. I mixed the ingredients until they were completely smooth and probably a little melted (apparently mixing on a hot stovetop isn’t a good idea). This made it pretty much impossible to roll into balls so my cookies were not at all smooth like a normal sugar cookie. I guess I never was normal anyways. Turns out I kind of liked the unique shape my cookies turned out to be but if you want to follow the rules make sure you’re careful here.

I loved these cookies! Iced or not, they tasted delicious to a tee. I tried the Icing suggested here on the original post but it turned out too runny and turned into a swampy mess (see below). I must have done something wrong. I’d probably go for the packaged icing next time but that’s the lack of adventure in my cooking skills.

Extreme Couponing– Beginner Edition

If you haven’t seen Extreme Couponing on TLC you are missing out. These people are totally crazy and basically treat couponing as a job. As a young couple in a not so cheap city we are all for saving in any way possible, but we haven’t quite reached that stage yet. Actually, I can pretty much guarantee you we never will.

Couponing in Canada doesn’t have half the potential needed to be anything like that of the U.S. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing but it means my grocery bill is still much higher than 10 dollars. Here’s a little look into the resources we use to save a buck or two.

Preparation

On Thursdays the flyers are released so we sit down as a team to discuss what we want this week. This comes with checking inventory, spreadsheets, meal plans, and the whole shebang but it’s an essential part of every week for us. After finding the store(s) with the best deals we decide where we will do our groceries for the week.

Throughout the week I also keep my eye on Smart Canucks. This website provides great deals as they come up and even does a flyer match up. On lazy weeks I’ll take a look at the matchup instead of doing the flyers myself but for the most part I kind of enjoy flyer browsing.

Coupons

20130226_181058

This right here is our envelope filled with coupons. It’s very useful but I find it’s a little difficult to navigate and plan to upgrade to a binder sometime soon.

We get most of our coupons from the following 3 websites:

The top two websites have the option to both print and mail coupons. We get most of ours through the mail and then throw them into the envelope for future use.

P&G Brandsaver only gives you coupons from time to time but they are amazing finds. If you like their products it is definitely worth signing up for. Also important to mention is that they have another site which gives you mini samples and is also worth looking into.

Phone Apps

checkout51

Checkout 51 - We just found this App last week and already I am in love. This app is currently only available for Apple users (not cool!) but it’s pretty darn awesome. Weekly, this app features a number of different items for which you can receive cash back when you purchase them. All you have to do is scan the receipt and BAM! instant money.

We got our first chance this week when we bought a box of Cheerios on sale at Loblaws for $3.99. With the Checkout 51 app we were able to get $2.00 cash back so essentially only bought the Cheerio’s for $1.99. Pretty sweet eh? Only downfall is that have to get cash back of $20 before you can cash out but I’m sure it won’t be long before we can reach that.

We are also big fans of Groupon and Wag Jag but these are more useful for non-grocery related purchases such as date nights.

Price Matching

For those of you who are embarrassed to price match, cut it out! (no pun intended). Unfortunately in Toronto we don’t receive many flyers  but when we do we take full advantage. Price matching can save you a ton of money especially when paired with coupons. Wal-Mart is the most well-known price matcher in the area but a lot of local stores also offer this fabulous way to save. It’s especially great for people who, like me, don’t like spending hours in a whack of different stores. I’d rather be in and out and spend my time elsewhere.

There are so many resources out there to help save you money and really why wouldn’t you want to save?

Try some of these websites & start your saving. If you have any tips for me I’d love to hear them!

Crockpot Fajitas

Crockpot Fajitas

The crockpot strikes again! As I mentioned last week we tried the crockpot a record two times in one week. This was our second attempt and man was I excited for this one. Fajitas are a weekly occurrence in our house but usually we do them on the stovetop. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this method but when I saw crockpot versions on Pinterest, I had to try it. And try it we did…

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breast (cut into small pieces)
  • 3 small peppers (any colour is fine), sliced
  • 3/4 jar of salsa (medium sized jar)
  • 1 package of fajita seasoning
  • Wraps
  • Any other fajita toppings you like

Directions

  1. Put chicken, peppers and salsa in the crockpot
  2. Cook on low for 8 hours
  3. Add fajita seasoning within the last 30 minutes of cooking
  4. Wrap these babies up

The original recipe we saw suggested more chicken and more salsa but with only two of us this was perfect. There was only a tiny bit leftover so if you’re cooking for more than 2 people I definitely suggest upping the ingredients.

This will be a huge addition to our weekly menu and I can’t wait to use it again. Only tip I have is to make sure you use a good salsa to chicken ratio. We used a whole can of salsa with just the two pieces of chicken and our mixture was a little too runny. If you like your fajitas really dripping with sauce, go for it, but if you follow the ingredients above it should resolve this issue.

Time for you to have your own fiesta! Try it out.

Just another Sunday

Sometimes weekends just fly by and this weekend I am absolutely feeling it. After a fantastic night last night with the boys and a bunch of errands today, Sunday crept around real quick. It’s been a busy week and I’m excited to see what the week ahead holds.

This week I start my new fitness plan. If all goes as planned I will share it with y’all because I’m all about sharing the love. Out with the old, in with the new. With only 5ish months until my 5k I really need to lift my head up and shoot for the stars. And guess what?….

Set your sights high everyone! Let’s make this week a good one.

High Five Friday

TGIF! Even for a short week this one seemed to go on forever. None the less, it was a great week and I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend to end it off.

One.

IMG_20130216_223208

On Saturday night we went over to a friend’s place to watch the Leaf’s game. After the game we ended up playing Dirty Minds. I’d never played the game before but man does it point out just how much our minds are in the gutter. I wish I had an example for you but just try the game, it’s really fun!

The weather was atrocious that night by the way but we were troopers and made it out. Actually  I just sat in the passenger seat holding on for dear life but still it was well worth the trip.

Two.

We tried two new recipes this week. This is probably a record for me but I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to try some more. I haven’t lined anything up for next week but I’m on it. Expect some recipe posts from me next week and here’s a sneak peek.

20130220_070755

Three.

Today I finally got two of the magazines I’ve been waiting for. I love getting mail! I check the mailbox every day and magazines are definitely one of my favourite surprises to find.  Today I got my Shape Magazine (my first one!) and my Z-life which is my Zumba magazine. Which to start first? I haven’t decided but it’s definitely not a bad problem to have.

Four

So last week I talked about how brutal the snow was. It snowed again! Shocking I know for a Canadian winter (totally sarcastic if you couldn’t tell) but lately winter just hasn’t been what it used to be. The aftermath from the snow was a whole lot of ice on my walk to work. Doesn’t it look like I should be living in an igloo? Danger zone for sure!

20130222_072707

Five

I finally got some family time this week! I’ve been dying to go to Zumba with my mom but due to bad weather it kept getting postponed. First timer, my mom, did amazing and we had a blast! Zumba, Swiss Chalet & Family time? Definitely the highlight of my week!

Have a safe & happy weekend friends!

A to Z of Being Me: C is for Country Music

To all those haters out there, country music is definitely an acquired taste. If you asked me a few years ago if I was a fan I would have called you crazy, but ask me today and I couldn’t be happier to say yes. Welcome to a part of my life that I adore, a part of my life I can’t wait to explore more, and the kind of party you just can’t escape. Welcome to the world of country music!

Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey, whiskey makes my baby….

If you don’t know the end of this sentence then you are missing out! But just in case I’ve made you feel a little sad and left out, it goes a little something like this.

Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey, whiskey makes my baby….Feel a little frisky

And if you still don’t understand…watch this video.

Rain is a good thing–Luke Bryan

Y’all, in true country fashion, this right here is the reason I fell in love with country music. His name is Luke Bryan and he is amazing. From his manly good looks to his adorable dance moves, this man is the definition of the fun that is country music. I could go on all day but really people, just fall in love already! Don’t worry, if you’re still not sold I’ll probably do some more convincing when we get to the letter L… this man definitely deserves a whole post to himself!

Although Luke is my all time favourite, there are so many great artists out there to fall in love with…. here’s my quick hit list.

I want to make you feel wanted.

You can be my tanned leg Juliet, I’ll be your red neck Romeo

All you gotta do is put a drink in my hand

If you know country music you know these are some great tunes. Hunter Hayes, Jason Aldean and Eric Church, the artists of those wonderful tunes, are also all very high on my list of country music loves.

Another thing I absolutely adore about country music is the fashion. I could wear my cowboy boots all day long and there’s nothing cuter than pairing them with a summer dress. Unfortunately here in Canada it’s not really a huge trend, but when a country music concert is in town I jump all over that! I also try and hit up the country bar a couple times a year to get my fix when I’m in withdrawal.

I’ve added a list of a few of my favourites below, go check them out and tell me what you think! I only put one more Luke song, but in reality I could have added them all.

Are you gonna kiss me or not|Drunk on you|Canadian Girls|Springsteen|Cruise|Fishin’ in the dark|Take a back road

Honestly, that’s the VERY short list.

What’s your favourite country song?

The Art of Crockpot Cooking

When we first decided to move out on our own I vowed I would use my crockpot religiously. Really, why wouldn’t I? Dumping a bunch of ingredients in a pot and letting it do its thing, well that sounded just fine with me.  Truth is, if my relationship with my crockpot were a marriage, I broke my vow a long time ago and this marriage would be a sham!

Crock pot cooking for me is really just a work in progress. I love the idea of the crock pot but the execution is where I struggle. There’s a million recipes online but my patience waivers too much to actually choose one. So I thought of something, actually a lack of dinner ingredients forced me to think of something.

Why do I need a recipe to make this crock pot work? I don’t! So I tried the dump and go, and here’s the result…

Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken

Ingredients

  • Whole chicken
  • Bottle of buffalo sauce
  • Drizzle of Red Hot Sauce (probably not necessary as it’s pretty much the same as above)
  • Sprinkle of the following spices:
    • Basil
    • Pepper
    • Garlic Powder
    • Oregano

Directions:   Dump them all in the crock pot & cook on low for 8 hours

blog chicken

The verdict… Huge success! It’s easy, low in calories, and delicious. The dump and go agreed with me on this one. Crockpot – I love you.

I love Mondays….this week.

Mondays are always a little rough.

Even after the most relaxing of weekends, Monday is often the hangover you just can’t cure.

We spend the weekends drunk on life and the weekdays are often quite subdued. Personally I don’t dread going to work. I consider myself lucky to have the job I do when really I should be somewhere much different in life. I set a path for myself a long time ago, went down one completely different and couldn’t be happier with that choice. Still, I would be lying if I didn’t say I’d rather spend more time in my bed.

This is why long weekend Mondays are heavenly. One more day to sleep in, spend time with my man, relax, and get the housework done. The latter part of that list is not so exhilarating but it has to be done at some point and there is no way I feel like doing it after a long day at work. Thank you Ontario for giving us family day, it’s well appreciated.

Now to the week ahead, because there’s no such thing as a long weekend Tuesday (unless you book vacay, but that hardly counts). I’m still debating my workout plan problem. Apparently quitting a gym is a little more difficult than my delusion mind had thought. I mean who hasn’t heard a horror story about getting out of a gym contract? What was I thinking!? Give me another week (or two) and I’ll be happy to share with you my plan to turn my slacking ways around. For now, I will continue trying what I can and working with what I have. Key is to not give up, even though god knows I’ll want to.

A Special Kind of Sunday

It’s a long weekend! That means I don’t have to prepare for the week ahead just yet. I will share some sort of inspiration tomorrow, probably in the form of a cute quote, but for today I’m just going to enjoy the time off.

That being said, my diet is shot! 3 days at home, what a challenge! Weekends are my weakness and I know I’m not alone on this. If anyone has any miracle solutions, please share! Until then I’ll be enjoying my pizza and wings tonight. Yes I know, this is not the way to go about it.

Oh and the boy is making something delish for dessert. Y’all I love dessert! If I was only allowed one meal a day it would be dessert, no questions asked. To anyone who isn’t on the same page as me, New Girl says it best:

Have a Sunny Sunday! I know I am =)

High Five Friday

Happy “family day weekend” Friday everyone! Woah, that’s a mouthful. For most Canadians, this is definitely something to celebrate, seeing as it means 3 full days of weekend bliss. I have a little overtime to do but I will still be sure to make the most of the extra time off.

Now for five highlights from the last week and a bit – it’s been a good one!

One.

I’ve become a bit of a homebody and Friday’s always mean Friday night hang outs. We watch our shows, usually chow down on something delicious, and overall just enjoy each other’s company. The weeks are busy so it’s the perfect time for us to spend time together. What better way to do this then to share a whole cake? Whoops. Oink Oink.

Cake

Two

Girl’s night in!

Three

We got lots of snow last week! It’s the most we’ve seen in ages. I’m talking people stopping on the highway to shovel themselves out and a girl cross country skiing down the sidewalk kind of snow. Who knew these storms were even possible anymore. But now its right back to global warming, which means rain which eventually turns to slush which eventually turns to ice. It’s a vicious, dirty, cycle. Spring, get your ass over here!

snow

Four & Five

I know I said it was a good week and I wasn’t lying, but a lot of it all came from Valentine’s day. So I’ve given this special day two numbers. This was our first Valentine’s actually spent together and my honey surprised me with tickets to Safe Haven, oh and this bundle of joy. Emotional me actually got choked up by the 6am surprises and it was an amazing start to a fantastic day.

Isn’t he adorable!?

Have an amazing weekend everyone!

A to Z of Being Me : B is for Boyfriend

Happy Valentine’s Day y’all. It seems this post couldn’t come at a more stereotypical time but I swear I didn’t time it like this. Just so happens we are on the letter B and the first and most important thing that comes to mind is my darling boyfriend. He’s kind of special, no big deal.

Let me present the stud I call my own….

20130126_203314

I’m a lucky girl eh? But seriously, I am. I could get all sappy and tell you the things I love about him but let’s be real, nobody really wants to hear that except maybe him.

We’ve been together over a year now and have known each other even longer. I would love to tell your our love story but he would probably kill me. Apparently it’s embarrassing for him or something? I don’t see it but I’ll be kind. After all, it is the day of love. Hey, maybe if I’m lucky he’ll let me share it one day.

For now I will share one story though, one that he cannot possible be mad at me for. This is the story of how I fell in love:

We’d been friends for a long time (insert so-called embarrassing stories) and had started spending even more time together. I always imagined us as just friends until the day he met my cousin. What is is about a guy who’s good with kids? Total turn on right? Well it did it for me. Suddenly I saw a new light and these unknown feelings appeared. It wasn’t until a little later I was able to admit it but boy am I glad I did.

Doesn’t a story look so much more legit in italics?

Everyone has a special someone in their lives. Whether it’s a boyfriend, friend, family, you name it, this day is to celebrate them and the love you share. Cheers to those wonderful people and cheers to all you wonderful bloggers.

Am I beautiful or what?

And by I, I mean my blog. It looks beyond amazing and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I can’t help but be cocky on it’s behalf, but really it’s all thanks to one lovely lady. Many kudos go out to Aubrey @ The Kinch Life Designs who put this all together for me. If you’re looking for a blog layout, she’s the girl you should call!

It took me a long time to decide if I wanted to invest in a blog layout but after a few weeks of really getting into the blogging scene I couldn't resist. It’s going to take me a while to get this blog up to full speed but this sure puts me on the right track. I encourage any new bloggers to invest as well, especially if they really want a boost in confidence. How could I not feel good about sharing my posts when they are oh so pretty?

Thanks again Aubrey! You blew my expectations out the water.

Go-To Rolo Cookies

Every chef has their go-to recipe they make when they want to boost their ego or when they are in a rush for something quick. Every good chef has more than one of these recipes. As I’m only a chef in the making I currently have just a couple, but I do hope to build my selection with practice.
My number one go-to recipe is Rolo cookies. I started with the basic recipe you can find here at Six Sister’s Stuff. This is an amazing site with lots of great ideas! Check it out everyone, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Rolo Cookies

How delicious do those look? This picture is courtesy of Six Sister’s Stuff but I must say it’s not far from what I was able to come up with. Now that’s saying a lot!
I decided to take it up a notch and get a little adventurous by trying different treats instead of just Rolos. So far I’ve tried it with Hershey kisses (peppermint and regular), aero mini pieces, and a Reese’s peanut butter cup. You could seriously do this with any goodie and I plan to keep on trying them out. They’ve been a hit every time I’ve made them, including the time when I burnt them a little. The chocolately deliciousness covered up the hint of burnt taste.
If I could suggest a recipe, I would suggest this one. And for those of you who know me well, don’t be surprised if I show up with these babies at a get together.
Try them out and get creative! and don’t forget to share the unique treats you try.

Recipe for a Girl’s Night In

When the boy is away the girls will play or just gossip like we haven’t seen each other in years. I can never turn down a girl’s night. Whether we are staying in or going out, I love them! So this weekend I had my girl’s over and we spent the night in.

Let me share my recipe for success. Now I know every girl has their own idea of the perfect night but I must say ours was pretty fabulous.

Ingredients

  • 4 wonderful girls
  • Lots of candy including fun dip, nerds, and ring pops just to name a few
  • Pizza & chicken wing bites
  • Wine, Coolers & Vodka
  • Enough to talk about for days on end

Directions

  • HAVE FUN!!

20130209_181802

It’s not about what you do but rather who you’re with. I wasn’t sure if we’d watch chick flicks or who knows what but I wasn’t concerned, I knew we would have fun. In the end all we did was chat all night long and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love my girls!

The A to Z of Being Me - A

So I’ve seen this around in some fashion or another and loved the idea of opening myself up to all of y’all. I am a little upset the alphabet starts with A as it took me ages to decide on a topic but I settled, and I’ll give you my two cents on something near and dear to my heart…my Android.

phone

This right here is my baby. Not mine specifically, as I got this picture off of Google, but close enough. Only real difference is that my Android has a pretty pink case.

I’m a true Android fan. I will fight the android vs. Iphone battle to no end. I’m sure there’s many Iphone users out there ready to fight me on this one but I truly believe the Android is the better phone. Whether it the sleek look, or the vast amount of free apps (that cost money for Apple users) there’s a million and one reasons I love this phone. I have had no issues with my phone that weren’t self inflicted. This being said, I am not the best mom to this baby. A few months ago I had a little incident and dropped it on it’s face. Rough times eh? The result was devastating and cost me pretty badly. I wish I could say this is the first time I’ve killed my phone but I am known to use and abuse. Two time toilet dropper here, but both those phones survived. People say I should get an otter box, but it’s so big and bulky I just couldn’t do it. I’ll just have to be more cautious in the future.

So here’s the beginning of my story. Hopefully I can find something a little more interesting for the letter B so stay tuned!

2.06.2013

I see blue, white, and a little red maple leaf

Where would I see such a thing? Only my darling Toronto Blue Jays. We didn’t really see them per say, as the season doesn’t start to April. We did get our first taste of what’s in store for the 2013 season though and let me tell you, the taste is sweet!

We didn’t expect much, just a pleasant night out and a little question and answer period ,but boy was I pleasantly surprised. Unlimited drinks, unlimited food, and a 40% off sale in the Jay’s shop! If acquiring those big names in the off season didn’t already make me love them more, you know free stuff sure does the trick. Blue Jays, you stole my heart.

3

Now for the question and answer period; the “real” reason we were there. I’m not the most educated when it comes to baseball so I just sat, smiled, and listened. Sure I understand what’s going on, but I’m more in it for the action. I’d love to share my thoughts but I’m definitely not a sports writer so I won’t even attempt it. For example, if you asked me my thoughts on JP Arencibia? I’d probably go on about how cute he is, his awesome taste in intro music, and how active he is on twitter. See, not quite sports writer material.

For those fans out there who want the real baseball news from last night check out Drunk Jays Fans which is an amazing blog for Toronto sports fans. I’m a newly addicted reader and they definitely do a better job of breaking it down than I ever could.

2

Must say this is the best Tuesday night since I can remember AND I bought a new shirt. Absolutely successful night on the whole. Spring Training, lets do this! Go JAYS Go!

Fabulous February

I know February started a few days ago and maybe I’m a little late on the February forecasting but hey, it’s better late than never. Plus we’re only 1/7 of the way through the month, so I figure it could be worse.

This month is promising to be an exciting one! Minus the sub zero temperatures that are Canadian tradition for this time of year, there are a whole lot of things to look forward to. Here’s a few spoilers for the month ahead.

First Blue Jays Event

For those of you who don’t know already, I’m a huge baseball fan! Well baseball fan may not be completely accurate as the Jays are really my only interest. But boy oh boy am I pumped for this season! Tomorrow is our first big event as season’s ticket holders and we can’t wait! If I close my eyes is it April yet?

Valentine’s Day

Okay folks I can’t promise big things here but February wouldn’t be the same without this hallmark holiday. I’m not a huge Valentine’s Day advocate but this is mine and Randy’s first real Valentine’s day together. Who knows maybe he’ll surprise me (hint hint honey).

A New Blog Design =)

I’ve really come to love blogging and it’s time to spruce it up a little. Talks are in the works and the new design, by an incredibly talented designer, is coming together. I’m excited, no no, I’m ecstatic! I can’t wait! Can you tell?

So what do you think, February sounds pretty damn amazing eh?

What does your February have in store?

2.03.2013

Tomorrow is Monday…

And every Monday I say the exact same thing… diet starts now! Back to myfitnesspal, back to less pop, and back to exercising. As my goal is to be in better shape by July for my 5k race this is important. I know that if I stuck to my Monday plan this would be also be possible. But by Friday afternoon it sounds more like this… “Wait, what did I say Monday?”

So I’ve decided to pump myself, and hopefully my fellow bloggers, up for the week. I will pick a quote that speaks to me and aim to follow it for 7 whole days. Not 3. Not 4 and 1/2. 7 WHOLE days!

This week is about changing the trend. Change is good my friends. Just do it!

Inspirational Quote

Here’s to a good week. Cheers!

High Five Fridays

So a lot of blogs I follow share their five highlights of the week every Friday. I am joining the trend so sit back and enjoy my reminiscing.BlogN1BlogN2

1. Dinner date night – I love me some carbs, candles, boyfriend cuddling and the most romantic part of all – Nashville on the TV. Who said romance was dead?

2. A REAL date night – Some Swiss Chalet and a nice winter walk.

3. My man loves himself some chicken wings and he’s so adorable with sauce all over his face.

4. IKEA magazine came in the mail! I’m so excited! I’m reading it in small portions so I don’t finish it all at once. It’s like a book to me. A beautiful, dream-filled book.

5. Cupcake baking…self explanatory.

Have yourselves a fabulous weekend!
